Blog Rationale
For this blog, I decided to work with a valentines day theme. The reason for this was because many couples usually go out for dinner on valentines day, but because of the virus limiting people on being able to enjoy dinner in a restaurant, I believed it would be a good idea to incorporate this theme into the blog. Because of this, I put in many colourful and appealing pictures which could interest customers into trying out the delicious food that Gousto offer. I also tried to put in a wide range of different cuisine types so that there are many foods to attract many different customers, between the ages of 20-35.

For the SEO optimisation, I used a wide range of tags. These include “couples”, “love”, “Valentines day”, “homecooking”, “spotifybeats”, “romance” and “musicwhilecooking”. These are appropriate tags because they are broad, and whether someone is looking for potential Valentines romance inspiration, or whether they are just looking for a simple and convenient meal so they have more time to do other things. Furthermore, it has also been suggested that food blogging is extremely popular now in countries such as india, as they are able to get inspired and also show of their own recipes on the internet due to the advances in phone technology.  (Majumdar, 2019)

The blog was laid out and easy to follow. Throughout the blog, it stated 5 key reasons as to why the customer should choose Gousto over a takeaway, or home cooking from scratch. The 5 main reasons were convience, time saving, health, no waste and the fact the ingrediants are all responsibly sourced. These key facts helped to draw the readers attention as to why Gousto is a good idea, especially for Valentines day. I also aimed to keep the design fairly basic and not have too much clutter on the page. Having clutter on the page distracts the reader from the content. (Kimberly, 2020)

At the end of the blog I also added in about the collaboration between Gousto and Spotify to create “Gousto beats”. This helps to attract the target audience as music is a big part of any young adult’s life. It is also helping to attract customers as they know how much of a chore it can be to spend hours slaving away behind the stove, preparing and cooking food, when they would much rather just be able to kick back and relax while Gousto does the work for them.

In conclusion, the blog represents Gousto as a classy brand which is trying to attract younger adults to use their service by showing the audience how easy and relaxing It can be through pictures and words on my blog, conveying a clear message of benefits to using Gousto’s services.
